Soldier Dies Unexpectedly: Investigative Committee

On June 24, 2024, a report was received from the Sisian division of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia regarding the death of soldier Davit Vahani Nersisyan, who served in military unit N.

According to the report from the Investigative Committee of Armenia, around 9:40 AM, while standing in formation at the military unit, D. Nersisyan suddenly experienced a decline in health and lost consciousness. He was quickly transported to a military hospital, where his biological death was recorded around 10:00 AM.

The military investigative department of the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. An external examination of the body has been conducted, and no signs of violence were found on the corpse.

A number of individuals have been questioned, and medical documents related to the deceased soldier have been seized from the healthcare facility. To determine the cause of death, a forensic examination of the body has been commissioned. Necessary and urgent investigative and procedural actions are being undertaken to clarify the circumstances surrounding the soldier's death.
