A Safe Country Rich in History and Traditions: Italian Magazine's Coverage of Armenia
The Italian magazine Vanity Fair Italy has devoted an article to Armenia, as reported by the Armenian Tourism Committee. Italian journalists shared their impressions from their visit to Armenia, presenting it as a safe country rich in history and traditions, deserving of greater attention from tourists.
“Upon arriving in Armenia at night, the first thing I notice is the unique alphabet inscriptions. In Armenia, they speak a language of Indo-European origin, but it shares nothing with other languages. The alphabet, consisting of 36 letters, with three additional ones added in later centuries, was created in 405 AD by Mesrop Mashtots and is reportedly one of the most complete at the phonetic level, making it very easy for Armenians to learn other languages. Thus, in the following days, I notice that most of the people I meet speak at least three languages: Armenian, Russian, and then either Persian, English, French, or even Italian,” wrote the journalist.
The journalists also discussed the importance of Christianity, Armenian monasteries, Mount Ararat, calling it a 'lost mountain', and Armenian cuisine.
