VIDEO: Romanian Fans Hang Donetsk Flag and Chant 'Putin' During Match Against Ukraine

Romanian national team fans unfurled the flag of the Donetsk People's Republic during the group stage match against Ukraine in the 2024 European Championship. This was reported by the 'Country Politics' Telegram channel.

According to the source, during the match, Romanian fans chanted the name of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The match, held at Munich's Allianz Arena, ended with a score of 3-0 in favor of the Romanian players. The scoring opened in the 29th minute by Nicolae Stanciu, assisted by Denis Man. In the 53rd minute, Rezvan Marin scored, and four minutes later, Denis Drăguș sealed the final score, with another assist by Man.

Earlier, the European Football Associations Union had initiated a ban on Russian flags at Ukraine's matches during the ongoing European Championship in Germany. Security personnel at Allianz Arena, where Ukraine's first Euro 2024 match was taking place at the time of reporting, were instructed about this issue and were to confiscate Russian national symbols at the entrance to prevent provocations.

Previously, fans of the Serbian national team also chanted Putin's name ahead of the Euro 2024 match.
