The world champion Argentine national team played a friendly match against Ecuador in Chicago, USA. The team, led by Lionel Scaloni, secured a 1-0 victory.

Angel Di Maria, the Benfica forward, scored the winning goal in the 40th minute. Lionel Messi, the forward for Inter Miami, entered the field in the 56th minute, replacing Di Maria.

Before the start of the Copa America (June 20), the Argentine national team will play a friendly match against Guatemala on June 15.
