Registration for Presidential Elections Begins in Iran
In Iran, a five-day registration period began on Thursday for those intending to run in the presidential elections scheduled for June 28, reported ISNA agency, citing Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi.
The registration of candidates will conclude on June 3. From June 4 to June 10, the Guardian Council of the Constitution of Iran will review the qualifications of each registrant.
Specifically, individuals aged 40 to 75 who hold at least a master's degree may register to vote. After the council discusses the applications, the Iranian Ministry of Interior will announce the approved candidates on June 11, followed by a campaign period that will last until June 26.
The snap presidential elections in Iran are set to take place on June 28. It is noteworthy that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died as a result of an aviation accident, prompting the decision to hold new elections.
