Russia Ready to Assist Armenia, Says Zakharova
Russia is prepared to assist Armenia in the recovery of regions affected by flooding. This was announced by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a weekly press briefing.
“We have seen a positive response and reiterate that all offers made are relevant. As allies, we are always ready to support based on Yerevan's needs,” Zakharova stated in response to a question about whether Armenia had responded to the aid proposal.
She reminded that the Russian-Armenian humanitarian response center immediately joined the efforts to eliminate the aftermath, providing the necessary equipment to the Armenian authorities. The Russian Ministry of Defense has also expressed its readiness to assist with the capabilities and resources of the 102nd base. The issue of providing assistance is also being discussed by several Russian companies operating in Armenia, notably the Armenia Railway Company, which services the Yerevan-Tbilisi route.
“The Armenia Railway Company is actively engaged in the resumption of rail transport during these days,” Zakharova noted. According to her, various profile specialists have been dispatched to the site to search for solutions to complex problems in collaboration with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
“Once again, we express our condolences to the relatives and loved ones of those who lost their lives due to the disaster and wish a speedy recovery to those affected. We will also provide the necessary support to restore normal life in the flood-affected regions,” Zakharova added.
