Pentagon Confirms Secret Transfer of ATACMS Missiles to Ukraine

The Pentagon has confirmed that, with the approval of President Joe Biden, the United States has transferred ATACMS missiles to Ukraine for use in "sovereign Ukrainian territory." The transfer of the missiles was kept secret at the request of Kyiv, according to the U.S. Department of Defense as reported by RIA Novosti.

The agency states that Biden authorized the transfer of the missiles to the Ukrainian armed forces back in February, and they were included in the supply announcements made in March, arriving in Ukraine in April.

Politico had previously reported that the U.S. secretly transferred ATACMS tactical missiles to Ukraine, which have been used against Russian targets on two occasions.
