Defense Ministry Conducts Demining in the Kirants-Kheyrmeli Area

The Defense Ministry is conducting demining operations in the Kirants-Kheyrmeli area. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

“The Defense Ministry is carrying out demining in the area of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Tavush region, specifically the village of Kirants and the village of Kheyrmeli in Azerbaijan's Qazakh district. This operation aims to enable the implementation of geodetic measurements by expert groups from Armenia and Azerbaijan for the purpose of reproducing this section of the state border and ensuring the accuracy of coordinates,” the statement reads.

The Police of the Republic of Armenia’s MIA is reinforcing its presence in the demining zones to prevent civilian access to mine-affected areas and to ensure their safety.
