Some Issues Have Already Been Agreed Upon: Peskov on Armenia-Azerbaijan Border Demarcation
Armenia and Azerbaijan continue negotiations concerning the demarcation of their borders, with some issues already agreed upon. This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.
Peskov also stated that the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Nagorno-Karabakh corresponds to the realities in the region. “This aligns with the current realities that have developed in the region after Armenia recognized the borders of Azerbaijan as of 1991. Consequently, the geopolitical situation has changed, and effectively, they no longer have any functions left,” said Peskov.
Last week, the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Nagorno-Karabakh, where they had been deployed since 2020, began based on the trilateral statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
