Video: Minor Steals from Home and Ransacks Items to Create Illusion of Burglary

Julya

A 45-year-old man from the village of Tsilkqar reported a burglary to the Aragats police department on the evening of April 1. An operational group was dispatched to the scene.

"The door's locked padlock was not damaged, but the house was partly ransacked. According to the homeowner, a gold ring, a mobile phone, and 450,000 drams had been stolen from various places in the house. Moreover, the money had been taken from the drawer of the bedroom cabinet, which previously contained 960,000 drams, with the remainder still there.

Although a criminal case was initiated based on the characteristics of the theft, many factors suggested to law enforcement that this was not a typical burglary. Soon, information emerged indicating that the theft was carried out by the homeowner's minor son. After some informative discussions, he confessed to the crime and added that although he knew where the ring, phone, and money were, he had ransacked the house to create an illusion of theft.

The boy revealed the stolen items hidden in the roof of their old house in the same village. The investigation is ongoing," the police report stated.
