Video: The Earthquake in Taiwan is the Most Powerful in 25 Years; New Footage Released

New footage has been released following the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Taiwan. The Taiwan Fire Department has reported that at least 26 buildings have collapsed, with more than half of them located in the eastern Hualien area, where the earthquake’s epicenter was situated. More than 50 people have been injured, and around 20 individuals remain trapped under the rubble. Rescue operations are ongoing.

This earthquake is the most powerful to hit the island in the last 25 years. The last time Taiwan experienced such a strong earthquake was in 1999, when a 7.6 magnitude quake resulted in approximately 2,400 fatalities and damage or destruction to 50,000 buildings.
