Argentinian President Javier Milei Rents Luxury Hotel Room in Italy After Rejecting Embassy Accommodations

Argentinian President Javier Milei and his sister, Karina, head of the secretariat, have chosen not to stay in the embassy building upon their arrival in Italy, opting instead for rooms in one of the country’s most expensive hotels. This was reported by the newspaper La Nacion on Friday, February 9.

It has been reported that in Italy, the president, accompanied by his sister and security personnel, visited the embassy building. However, the conditions at the embassy in Piazza dell'Esquilino in Rome did not satisfy the president and his sister.

“Since the embassy rooms were apparently not in good condition and the president did not like them, Milei and his sister decided to move to the luxurious Intercontinental Ambasciatori hotel,” the publication states.

The article notes that it would have been appropriate for the president to demonstrate to a nation experiencing economic difficulties that cuts in spending apply to all social classes without exception. However, Milei opted for his own comfort, renting a hotel room where the minimum price for one night is $550.
