Burnt Body of Soldier Arthur Grigoryan Found After Fire Extinguished: Investigation Launched
A criminal investigation has been initiated into the incident involving the fire and the death of 39-year-old reserve soldier Arthur Grigoryan. This information was provided by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
The Ministry of Defense had previously reported that a fire broke out under unclear circumstances in a container next to the combat post of the N military unit’s watch area, resulting in the death of reserve soldier Arthur Varujan Grigoryan.
According to the Investigative Committee, a report was received from the military police department of the Ministry of Defense in Goris indicating that on February 6 at approximately 13:20, a fire ignited in a container located next to the combat post of N military unit’s watch area.
“After the personnel of the position extinguished the fire, the burnt body of reserve soldier Arthur Grigoryan, who was on combat duty at that position, was found,” the report stated.
On the same day, a criminal case was initiated in accordance with part 1 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of Armenia within the third garrison investigative department of the Military Investigative Main Department. An investigative group was formed, and inspections of the scene have been carried out, during which samples were collected.
Forensic and fire-technical examinations of the body have been ordered. Necessary and immediate investigative and procedural actions are being undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
