Under What Circumstances Did the Contract Soldier Get Killed by the Conscription Soldier? Details from the Investigative Committee
A conscription soldier has been detained in connection with the murder of contract soldier K.K. at a military position. The Investigative Committee has released details regarding the case.
It has been reported that on January 9, 2024, at approximately 06:20, at the combat position of Military Unit N of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, a series of crucial circumstances surrounding the murder of contract soldier K.K., who was responsible for the combat position, have been clarified as a result of urgent investigative actions conducted within the framework of the criminal case handled by the fifth garrison investigative department of the military investigative main directorate of the Republic of Armenia's Investigative Committee.
Specifically, it has been determined that prior to the incident, there was a dispute between K.K. and one of the conscription soldiers, N.K., regarding violations of the combat duty regulations. After handing over the observer's duty, the conscription soldier entered the basement and opened fire with the automatic rifle he was equipped with, aiming at K.K., inflicting gunshot wounds incompatible with life.
N.K. was arrested the same day. Based on a sufficient collection of factual data obtained during the preliminary investigation, public criminal prosecution has been initiated against the conscription soldier, and charges have been presented under Article 155, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A motion has been submitted to the court to detain him, which has been granted.
