Police Detain Tiran Khachatryan, Suspected of Firing Shots
Armenia's Deputy Chief of Police has reported that officers from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kotayk Regional Administration have arrested the suspect involved in a shooting incident at a restaurant near Eric in Kotayk Province on January 11. This information comes from shamshyan.com.
The suspect has been identified as Tiran Khachatryan, a former deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces and a major general. Reports indicate that he was located at the well-known 'Jpyt' hotel complex in Jrvazh before being taken to the Kotayk police station.
At the time of his arrest, Khachatryan was in possession of a registered firearm, which is believed to be the weapon used in the shooting incident. Currently, he is being held at the Kotayk police station, where authorities are preparing to transfer him to the investigative division of the Committee of Investigative Committee of Armenia in Abovyan, as a criminal case has already been initiated regarding the incident.
It should be noted that earlier reports indicated that shots were fired at a restaurant located in the village of Aramus in Kotayk Province, resulting in injuries to a 47-year-old man.
