Accident on Yerevan-Meghri Highway Leaves Injured

At 10:09 AM today, the crisis management center of the Vayots Dzor regional emergency rescue department received a call reporting an accident in the section from Vayk city to the junction of Jermuk. There were injuries, and assistance from rescuers was required. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A fire-rescue team from the regional emergency rescue department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that vehicles from the brands 'Mitsubishi' (driver: M. S., born 1962), 'Renault' (driver: R. M., born 1981), 'Volvo' (driver: L. A., born 1982), and 'VAZ' (driver: A. A., born 1988) collided at the 145th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri (M-2) highway, resulting in the drivers of the 'Renault' and 'Mitsubishi' vehicles being trapped.

Before rescuer teams arrived at the scene, the driver of the 'VAZ' vehicle and passengers S. H., L. Sh., and A. Sh. were transported to a medical center, where doctors assessed their health condition as satisfactory.

Rescuers disabled the vehicles, closed the gas cylinder valves, freed the trapped drivers of the 'Mitsubishi' and 'Renault' vehicles, and brought them closer to the ambulance. The injured were hospitalized where their health conditions were also evaluated as satisfactory.
