Unusual Atmospheric Phenomenon Observed in Moscow's Sky

An unusual atmospheric phenomenon has been observed in the sky over Moscow: ice needles. This was reported by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, on his Telegram channel. The information is shared by moslenta.ru.

“Ice needles are solid precipitation that appear as small ice crystals floating in the air, forming under extremely cold weather conditions,” explained the meteorologist. Rare phenomena have been noted at the Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Cheryomushki weather stations. Sometimes, ice needles create illuminated 'columns' in the night sky, the meteorologist pointed out.
