As a result of the explosion at a fuel depot near Stepanakert, there are 218 fatalities, with 21 individuals considered missing, three unidentified bodies, and 120 people suffering injuries of varying degrees. This was stated to ‘News’ by the head of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Arghishti Kyaramyan.
He noted that the depot was handed over to the authorities of Artsakh by the Defense Army, and among the victims are two officers. About 42,000 tons of fuel were stored at the depot.
Addressing the circumstances and causes of the explosion, Kyaramyan pointed out that the investigation is being conducted in the context that the overall situation stems from the realities of ethnic cleansing. “Because people went in hundreds, thousands, without taking turns, trying to secure fuel. This indicates that people have been in a desperate situation,” he elaborated.
