The Death Toll from Explosion in Iran Rises: New Details

The death toll from the explosion near a cemetery in Iran, related to the anniversary of Iranian Revolutionary Guard General Qasem Soleimani's death, has reached 73, with an additional 170 people injured. This was reported by the Iranian state agency IRNA, citing emergency services of the republic. The information was corroborated by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Iranian media had reported that at least 53 people were killed, and another 71 were injured. According to the Iranian Tasnim agency, the explosion was carried out remotely, with two explosive devices placed near the entrance of the cemetery in Kerman city. “As of now, 73 people have died and 170 have been injured due to the terrorist attack in Kerman city,” the message stated.
