A New Temperature Record Set in Sweden: The Coldest Night in 25 Years Recorded

A new temperature record has been established in Sweden last evening. In the northern Norrbotten region, temperatures dropped to minus 43.6 degrees Celsius. This information comes from TASS.

It is reported that this is the lowest January temperature recorded in Sweden in the last 25 years.

“This is also the lowest temperature ever recorded here. It is the lowest temperature since 1888,” said meteorologist Viktor Bergman in an interview with SVT television.

It is noted that due to the cold weather, several train and bus services in the northern parts of the Kingdom have been cancelled. The record low temperatures are attributed to high pressure in northeastern Sweden and northern Finland. Meteorologists forecast that this area of high pressure will move south by the end of the week.
