56 Individuals Wanted by 18 Countries Arrested in Turkey
The Turkish police have arrested 56 representatives of the criminal world, who were wanted by Interpol on behalf of 18 countries, including Russia. This was reported by the country’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, on his X (formerly Twitter) page. The information was conveyed by TASS.
The operations were carried out on the morning of January 3 in 11 cities, including Istanbul and Antalya. "The arrested individuals were wanted for serious offenses based on the requests of 18 countries, including participation in organized criminal groups, drug smuggling, money laundering, assaults, robberies, fraud, and other criminal acts," the minister stated.
According to him, the detainees have been transferred to the police's territorial units, and necessary procedural actions are being conducted.
