Edita

A new protest action has taken place in Belgrade. Protesters have blocked the street in front of the Ministry of Public Administration. Activists from the movement calling themselves "Students Against Violence" gathered in the center of Belgrade. Several hundred people, armed with whistles and traditional flutes, obstructed traffic in the Serbian capital.

They carried banners with slogans about "electoral theft" and symbols of the "Fight" movement. The activists are whistling, playing the flutes, banging pots, and chanting slogans against the authorities. Previously, they demanded that the government publish the voter lists from the recent parliamentary and municipal elections.

It should be noted that the day before, disturbances occurred in Belgrade initiated by supporters of the opposition coalition "Serbia Against Violence." On Sunday, they approached the city hall, blocked adjacent streets, broke windows, and threw pieces of pavement at the building's doors and windows. Police used tear gas to disperse the protesters.

According to the Ministry of Interior, 8 police officers were injured during the protests, and 38 people were arrested. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has called an urgent meeting of the National Security Council in response to these events. In a message to the nation, the leader stated that the protests in Belgrade are an attempt to deprive Serbia of its independence and sovereignty, but insisted that there is no talk of revolution.

He also revealed that partner countries had warned Serbian authorities about the upcoming protests.
