VIDEO: Dozens of Armenians Injured in Attack on 'Cows’ Garden' in Jerusalem

Eight individuals have been detained following an attack on the 'Cows’ Garden' in the Armenian quarter of Jerusalem. This was confirmed in an interview with Vigen Demirchyan, a representative of the Armenian community in Jerusalem.

He also stated that two Armenians were among those detained. Demirchyan believes that the attack was orchestrated by the security service of a company that has been attempting to seize the area for a long time.

As previously reported, today a group of around 30 terrorists, dressed in black and wearing masks, armed with wooden sticks, tear gas grenades, and various other means, launched an attack on the Armenians in 'Cows’ Garden' with the intent to harm, displace, and intimidate them. The attackers began throwing stones at the Armenians.

Young Armenians and startled clergy engaged in a real battle against them, responding appropriately and holding the area until police from the Old City, located 200 meters away, finally arrived at the scene. The attack has been halted, and two Armenians were taken to the police station. It remains unclear whether the assailants have been arrested or will face punishment.

The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem has reported that several priests, deacons, students, and native Armenians from the Armenian Spiritual Academy have sustained serious injuries.

“This is the criminal response we have received for filing a lawsuit concerning 'Cows’ Garden' in the Jerusalem District Court, which was officially received by the court 24 hours ago. The threat to the existence of the Armenian Patriarchate is now a physical reality. Bishops, priests, deacons, and native Armenians are fighting for their lives on the ground,” stated the Patriarchate.

“We call on the Israeli government and police to initiate an investigation into Dani Rothman (Rubenshtein) and George Warvari (Hadad) for their ongoing criminal attacks against the Armenian Patriarchate and the community, which seem to have no end,” the statement from the Patriarchate reads.
