Trash Bins Removed in Kasakh for Unknown Reasons, Large Garbage Pile Formed
In the village of Kasakh, part of the consolidated community of Nairi (Yeghvard) in Kotayk Province, trash bins have been removed from the area adjacent to the Red Cross organization for an unknown reason, and they have not been returned for over a month. This was reported to EcoLur by local residents.
“Trash is accumulating and spreading all over the area, with dogs scattering it around, and people have nowhere to throw their garbage,” stated one resident. The citizen mentioned that six months ago, they submitted a request to the Yerevan municipality for the provision of separate containers for waste collection. “I was told that they would solve my problem, but no action has been taken,” they noted.
To verify the information, Auroranews contacted the Yeghvard municipality. They responded, “The Nairi municipality is aware of the issue and regular sanitation work is being conducted periodically. Currently, the municipality is announcing the second competition to acquire a waste collection vehicle, in order to improve garbage collection in the specified area. Considering the complaints and reports we have received, we will be more diligent in both acquiring the vehicle and the cleaning efforts.”
