Military Police Discovers 4076 Smartphones: Soldiers Face Disciplinary Penalties

The Military Police of the Republic of Armenia has announced that, during daily preventive operations in military units throughout 2023, it has discovered 4076 mobile phones of the smartphone type and various prohibited items. As a result, several soldiers have faced disciplinary penalties in military police units.

The Military Police once again urges the parents and friends of the soldiers to refrain from providing smartphone-type mobile phones or other prohibited items to the servicemen, as it is committed to identifying smartphone-type phones and eliminating their use within the armed forces.

Reminder: Soldiers are permitted to possess mobile phones that do not have video recording, audio recording, photography, or internet access capabilities, which can only be used during specified free hours as outlined in the daily schedule. The discovered smartphone-type phones among servicemen will be returned to them according to established procedures after the completion of their compulsory military service.
