Who Is Against Negotiations on Ukraine's EU Membership in the EU: European Sources
Not all EU countries are willing to engage in negotiations with Ukraine regarding its membership in the European Union. This was reported by EUobserver, citing a European diplomat, as Interfax conveys.
During the EU summit scheduled for December 14-15, heads of state and government are set to discuss this directive.
According to the media, Hungary has already opposed the decision to negotiate with Ukraine. “Of course, Austria will create obstacles, but it will hide behind Hungary,” the publication quotes the words of an anonymous EU diplomat.
“Despite its new rhetoric, France does not actually want Ukraine to be part of the EU, while Germany is playing a cynical game,” the source continued its commentary.
The EU leaders are expected to decide on the EU membership proposals at the European Council meeting in December.
