Azerbaijan is the Last Country that Can Decide What Interests France Should Have: Marukyan on Baku's Criticism

Acquiring any kind of weaponry is a fundamental right of Armenia, and Yerevan will purchase it from any country available for self-defense. This was stated by Armenia's Special Representative for Foreign Affairs Edmon Marukyan in an interview with Radio Free Europe.

Referring to the Azerbaijani side's statements regarding this issue, Marukyan noted: “Naturally, these armaments do not have aggressive purposes; they are for defensive purposes, and this is Armenia's fundamental right that must be exercised. It has been exercised, will be exercised, and is being exercised right now. Therefore, statements from Azerbaijan are simply astonishing.”

According to Marukyan, Azerbaijan cannot dictate to France what interests it should have. “Azerbaijan is the last country that can decide what interests France should have in the region or with its friendly states. Therefore, speaking about France's wrong interests by Azerbaijan is simply ridiculous,” Marukyan emphasized.
