Erdogan Compares Israel to Armenia
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has stated that Israel will experience disappointment as a result of the Middle Eastern conflict, similar to what Armenia faced during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This information was reported by TASS.
“After years of pursuing dreams about our lands, Armenia reaped the consequences of the Nagorno-Karabakh war and took its place. Israel will also face disappointment. As long as we, the 85 million people, are united, no one can break us. That is why having a strong and modern army is necessary for us,” he said during a speech in front of members of his ruling Justice and Development Party in parliament.
Erdogan again referred to Israel as a terrorist state, while describing the Hamas movement as a legitimate political force in Gaza. “Israel is engaged in state terrorism. I say this clearly: Israel is a terrorist state. You call Hamas a terrorist organization. But Hamas is a political party that won in elections,” he remarked.
Erdogan added that Turkey will continue to work towards having “the world recognize and accept Israel as a terrorist state.”
