Increase of EU Observers Will Strengthen Stability at Our Borders: Deputy Foreign Minister

Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hayrikyan discussed the European Union's decision to expand its observer mission in Armenia during a press briefing with reporters. He mentioned that the issue of expanding the EU observer mission in Armenia has been under discussion for some time.

“There is a decision to increase the number of observers and enhance their capabilities, which will allow for more active monitoring activities, provide relevant reports to Brussels and member states—something that will certainly further strengthen stability at our borders,” Hayrikyan added.

The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that it is still unclear how much the number of EU observers will increase, but it is essential to ensure a sufficient number to carry out the work more effectively.

He specified that the discussion is about increasing the number of observers and strengthening their capabilities. “The work in this direction will start quickly and there will be no delay,” emphasized the Deputy Foreign Minister.
