Armenia Appeals to the UN Court Against Azerbaijan: Demands Revealed

The Republic of Armenia has filed a complaint with the International Court of Justice of the United Nations regarding the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, requesting the application of interim measures and reaffirmation of Azerbaijan's obligations in accordance with the provisions of the "Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination." This has been stated on the court's official website.

Armenia demands that Azerbaijan refrain from any actions aimed at the displacement of ethnic Armenians remaining in Nagorno-Karabakh or obstructing the safe return of those who have been displaced during the recent military assault, including those who have fled to Armenia or third countries. At the same time, Azerbaijan must allow those who wish to leave Nagorno-Karabakh to do so without obstruction.

"Azerbaijan must withdraw all military and law enforcement personnel from the civil institutions in Nagorno-Karabakh that were occupied as a result of its armed attack," the application states.

Azerbaijan is also obliged to ensure access for UN and its specialized agencies, support the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and not create obstacles for delivering humanitarian aid to ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, cooperating with the Red Cross on eliminating the consequences of the recent conflict.
