Azerbaijan Detains Former Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan, Reports Say
Azerbaijani media reports that former President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, has also been detained today.
Earlier, we reported that according to Azerbaijani sources, former Artsakh presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and National Assembly President Davit Ishkhanyan have been 'arrested' and transferred to Baku.
According to the same sources, a court decision regarding the detained high-ranking Artsakh officials will be made in the upcoming hours.
Artsakh Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Sargsyan, Director of the National Security Service Ararat Melkumyan, and the Chief of Staff of the President of Artsakh are already in Armenia.
As of now, the following state and military figures of Artsakh have been confirmed as detained by Azerbaijan:
- Ruben Vardanyan - Prime Minister
- Davit Manukyan - former Deputy Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, General
- Levon Mnatsakanyan - former Commander of the Defense Army, General
- Davit Babayan - former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh
- Bako Sahakyan - former President of the Republic of Artsakh (2007-2020)
- Arkadi Ghukasyan - former President of the Republic of Artsakh (1997-2007)
- Davit Ishkhanyan - President of the National Assembly of Artsakh
