Prosecutor's Office Purchases Toilet Brush for Approximately 20000 Dram: 'Zhoghovurd'
One of the procurement formats criticized multiple times by Nikol Pashinyan, which poses corruption risks, is also being applied at the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia. This is reported by the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd.'
In the office led by Chief Prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan, flags have been purchased through single-source procurements. On one occasion, they spent 90,000 dram on tricolor flags, and in another case, 190,000 dram. In addition to purchasing flags, the Prosecutor’s Office has also utilized data storage services and signed two contracts again under a single-source procurement procedure. One of those contracts was drafted for 50 million dram, while in the other case, 46 million dram was paid directly to a single entity, 'Telecom Armenia,' without any competition.
Furthermore, the office led by Anna Vardapetyan purchased a coat of arms for 100,000 dram. Another 130,000 dram was spent on elevator repairs from individual entrepreneur Tigran Khachatryan. However, the most notable purchase is, of course, the prosecutor’s office's expensive toilet brushes. According to official documents obtained by 'Zhoghovurd,' the Prosecutor's Office purchased toilet brushes for a total of 237,600 dram, which means that each brush costs approximately 20,000 dram.
