The Governor of Syunik is Elected as the Chairman of the Goris State University Council

The Council of Goris State University today elected a new chairman from its ranks, the Governor of Syunik, Robert Ghukasyan, with 14 votes in favor and 1 against.

Upon assuming his duties, the Governor of Syunik stated: “I thank you for nominating me and for your trust. This is certainly a very responsible moment for me, as presenting my candidacy came with justifications... There is a great responsibility in all this, and I assure you that I will do my utmost to uphold the reputation and honor of Goris State University in facing all existing challenges and contributing to the smooth development of the institution. I know that the university is faced with many issues that I am not yet familiar with, but I will familiarize myself and do everything to resolve them as soon as possible, so we can ensure a trajectory for Goris State University that we have always mentioned in various discussions and dialogues.

Education is the most vital pillar of development for human beings on this planet. Therefore, the greatest emphasis should be placed on the quality and accessibility of education. Especially during these difficult times, when our region is in a geopolitically tough phase, we need rapid development, which is impossible without advancements in the educational sector. I will strive to be here as frequently as possible and support Goris State University in every way, safeguarding the interests of the institution.
