Natural Disaster in Kakheti

Strong winds and hail have caused damage to three villages in the Lagodekhi Municipality of Georgia's Kakheti region. According to available information, residents of Kabali, Gurgeniani, and Baisubani have been affected.

Unharvested grapes, fruit orchards, and other crops have been damaged by the hail. In Kabali, the wind has blown off the roofs of several houses. Trees have been uprooted on the road connecting Lagodekhi, Kghvareli, and Telavi, and power lines have been downed. Traffic on this road was blocked for 15 minutes.

In the village of Baisubani, household plots have also been flooded. Locals say that the bad weather lasted for about 15 minutes. Rescue workers are currently operating in the disaster area, clearing the main roads of uprooted trees.

It is worth noting that hail also fell in Kakheti on September 2, destroying a portion of the grape harvest in the villages of Akhmeta, Telavi, and Gurjaani.
