Car Collides with Truck on Ashtarak Highway: One Fatality and Injuries

On September 8, at 00:04, the crisis management center of the Kotayk regional rescue service received a call reporting an accident on the Ashtarak highway, near the "Caucasus" hotel and restaurant complex, with injuries involved and the need for rescue assistance.

A firefighting unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' fire and rescue service in Yerevan, along with a special rescue group, swiftly arrived at the scene.

It was determined that on the Ashtarak highway, near the "Proshyan City" store, a "Kia" vehicle collided with a parked "Mercedes-Benz" truck. Fuel was leaking from the "Kia" vehicle, and a passenger, identified as O.H. (born in 1950), was pronounced dead at the scene.

Before the rescuers arrived, the driver of the "Kia" and another passenger were extricated from the vehicle by local bystanders and taken to a medical center. Rescuers recovered O.H.'s body, brought it to a vehicle for transportation, closed the gas valve of the "Kia," and carried out cleaning operations on the highway.
