“For the first time, we are sending to Ukraine assets seized from Russian oligarchs under sanctions that will be used to assist Ukrainian veterans,” he stated.

According to a statement from the State Department, this amounts to $5.4 million.

Earlier, Blinken had announced that Washington would provide Kyiv with more than $1 billion in additional aid.

It is noted that since the end of February 2022, Washington has provided $43.2 billion in military assistance to Kyiv, with humanitarian aid totaling $2.9 billion, and another $20.5 billion sent as budget support through World Bank mechanisms.
