Vladimir Putin is Informed About the Situation, Says Nikol Pashinyan

The situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and in Nagorno-Karabakh is tense due to Azerbaijan's military buildup. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a broadcast on Public Television.

"The situation at the border is tense because Azerbaijan has a certain buildup of troops at the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border, and there is also a buildup of troops in Nagorno-Karabakh," he said.

"The assessments I have made during today's government meeting have not changed," the Prime Minister added.

In response to a question about why the Russian president was not the first foreign partner he called, Pashinyan noted, "The first call was to the President of Russia. There were also calls to those partners who are not informed or aware of the nuances. The President of Russia is informed about the situation; the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor and the humanitarian crisis has been ongoing since last December. Since December until now, I have had dozens of conversations with the President of Russia, while there is information related to the new situation that needs to be shared with others. Unfortunately, the situation has not changed since our last conversation, so there was no need for a new call."
