British Parliament Recognizes Taiwan as an 'Independent Country' for the First Time
Julya
The British Parliament has officially referred to Taiwan as an 'independent country' for the first time. This new wording was included in a report released by the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, which states: 'Taiwan possesses all the qualities necessary for statehood... It only lacks greater international recognition.'
It is noteworthy that China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already responded to the report, urging the British Parliament to adhere to the 'One China' principle.
