Response from the Artsakh Presidency on Reports of Azerbaijan Sending Flour to Stepanakert via Aknal

Azerbaijani sources today disseminated information about sending a humanitarian cargo from Baku to Stepanakert under the auspices of the Red Crescent, but there has been no agreement on this matter with the Artsakh side. This was stated by Lusine Avanesyan, the press secretary of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, in response to a query from "Artsakhpress," adding that therefore, this action is aimed at deepening existing problems rather than resolving them.

"The issue of re-establishing the regime of the Lachin corridor remains a priority, and any dialogue with the Azerbaijani side should first and foremost revolve around this issue. The corridor must operate freely and without interruption for the movement of both people and goods in both directions. If the authorities in Azerbaijan are genuinely interested in eliminating the severe humanitarian disaster of the people of Artsakh and stopping the genocide, they should not play at false humanitarianism but simply allow the restoration of supplies to Artsakh via the Lachin corridor, as stipulated in the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, and the orders of the International Court of Justice," emphasized Lusine Avanesyan.

It is worth reminding that we previously reported on another Azerbaijani provocation, where Azerbaijani media claimed that Azerbaijan is preparing to send humanitarian assistance to the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
