Porn Film Screened Instead of Advertisements in Baghdad

On Saturday, a large screen at a busy intersection in Baghdad suddenly began displaying a pornographic film instead of advertisements. Authorities have temporarily shut down all electronic advertisement boards in the capital.

Videos and photos of this unusual incident quickly spread across social media in the Muslim-majority city of Iraq. The police have arrested a suspect who has been identified as a technician for a company managing the electronic advertisement billboards in Baghdad. According to police reports, he had a financial dispute with the company and, in retaliation, decided to display pornography on the screen instead of advertisements.

According to AFP, citing a source in the Iraqi law enforcement agencies, the explicit content was shown for just a few minutes before security forces arrived and cut the cables. On Sunday, Baghdad authorities decided to deactivate all electronic advertisement boards. A spokesperson for the agency stated that these boards will remain disabled until experts determine how to prevent such incidents in the future.
