Tickets for Yerevan-Kapan Flights Now on Sale

The tickets for the Yerevan-Kapan-Yerevan flights are now on sale. This information was provided by the Syunik Regional Administration on its official Facebook page.

The price for a one-way ticket starts from 20,000 AMD. Regular flights will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. Flights from Yerevan will depart at 8:00 AM, with flights from Kapan set for 10:00 AM.

Recall that on August 19, in celebration of Kapan's city day, the Czech airline NovAir operated a passenger flight on the Yerevan-Kapan-Yerevan route using an L-410 type aircraft. Additionally, on August 17, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan traveled to Syunik via the Yerevan-Kapan flight.

The following day, on August 18, the National Security Service of Armenia reported that an unidentified individual from Azerbaijan fired shots toward Kapan's 'Syunik' airport, with two bullets damaging one of the airport's windows and its roof.

On August 18, the head of the Azerbaijani parliament's defense committee, Ziya Fat Askerov, stated that Kapan airport cannot be operated because Armenia does not have an agreement with Azerbaijan for this purpose, and it is also located close to Azerbaijani border positions.

Later, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia issued a statement noting that according to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, each sovereign state independently manages its airspace, and flights carried out within the territory of a given state are not coordinated with neighboring countries. They also reminded that in 2020, when Kapan's 'Syunik' airport was reopened, modern air routes were implemented, according to which approaches, take-offs, and landings are conducted exclusively through Armenian airspace.
