Woman Charged with Mental and Sexual Abuse of Her Minor Child Detained for Two Months

A woman accused of physical, mental, and sexual abuse against her minor child has been detained, according to the Investigative Committee.

It has previously been reported that on August 19, 2023, public criminal proceedings were initiated against the children's mother, and she was charged based on the evidence obtained.

In the charges presented, the woman has pleaded guilty. The prosecuting body submitted a motion to the court for her detention as a preventive measure for two months, which was granted.

The prosecuting body has also taken relevant measures to ensure the children's shelter, care, and safety. Specifically, according to the investigator's letter, following the established procedure, the children have been transferred to appropriate care centers.

It is reminded that a video surfaced on the internet on August 18, showing a woman abusing a minor girl, while involving other children to humiliate her daughter.

It was later revealed that the girl was being beaten by 34-year-old Anna Arevshatyan. She was arrested on the same day the incident was filmed in Gavarr.
