Pernod Ricard, Representing Armenian Ararat, Closes Its Representation in Russia

Pernod Ricard, the alcohol conglomerate, is set to close its representation in the Russian Federation, as reported by Kommersant.

It is noted that Laurent Pilé, who has been the CEO of Pernod Ricard's local entity since 2019, has been transferred to a different sector, while Ignati Arakelyan, who heads the Yerevan Cognac Factory (YCF), will oversee the business's termination. The conglomerate's brands will remain on the market through parallel imports.

According to the unified state register of legal entities in Russia, on August 8, Ignati Arakelyan, head of the YCF group and former Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, became the CEO of Pernod Ricard's Russian representation, “P.R.Russia” LLC. He replaces Laurent Pilé, who led the alcohol conglomerate in Russia since 2019.

As mentioned in Ignati Arakelyan's LinkedIn profile, he has been serving as the director of financial and administrative affairs for Pernod Ricard in Eastern Europe since 2018.
