18-Year-Old Eva Parsyan Dies in Tragic Accident While Traveling to Western Armenia with Teacher

The youngest victim of the tragic accident in the Shirak region is 18-year-old Eva Parsyan (left in the photo). She was from the village of Kornidzor in the Syunik region and had a younger brother. She had studied at the ArmAT engineering laboratory in Kornidzor.

“Eva had been accepted into the Faculty of History at Yerevan State University this year. She was one of our brightest, most active, and talented students,” said Ella Ghahramanyan, a course instructor at the ArmAT laboratory, in an interview with NEWS.am.

Eva traveled to Western Armenia with her history teacher, Nare Amaryan (right in the photo), who also lost her life in the accident. Nare was 27 years old, unmarried, and had two sisters.

“Both loved history very much and were excited to see their historical homeland. I was supposed to go with them, but at the last moment, our plans changed,” Ella noted.

It is important to remember that on the night of August 14, a tragic vehicle accident occurred near the village of Lanjik on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. A passenger bus of the brand “Volkswagen” collided with a “ZIL” truck at the 90th kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. Eleven people lost their lives, including the driver of the minibus and a tour guide from Hamshen Tour, while six others were seriously injured. Five of the injured are in the intensive care unit, with four in serious condition and one in critical condition. The truck driver is also among the injured.
