Former MP's Sons Sue Their Uncle Managing the Champagne-Wine Factory

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that on January 31 of this year, former MP Versand Hakobyan's son, Karen Hakobyan, filed a lawsuit against his uncle Hrayer Hakobyan, who is managing the Yerevan champagne-wine factory. According to the court information system, on December 22, 2022, Karen Hakobyan filed a claim in civil court against his uncle, seeking recognition of inherited property (buildings, assets, businesses, etc.) as such. It is noteworthy that the court has accepted the case for proceedings.

"Zhoghovurd" had a conversation with Hrayer Hakobyan to understand what issues he has with his brother's sons that have led to the case reaching court. In response, Hrayer Hakobyan stated, "There is nothing in it; it is related to inheritance. The day has come, everything will be resolved in due course. It’s not a fight; we’re not hitting each other, we have no issues. If there’s anything, we will keep you informed."

However, former MP's son Armen Hakobyan stated, "I would just like to point out that Hrayer Hakobyan sold the 'Golden Fish' restaurant complex, which became a symbol of the Hakobyan family since the 90s, without informing us a few months after our father’s death. The public knows well that my father and his brother founded their businesses together, and therefore we find ourselves in an absurd situation. In fact, we were not only deprived of property but also disregarded our father Versand Hakobyan's significant contributions and efforts. That’s all."

Thus, yesterday, "Zhoghovurd" newspaper noted that the sons of former MP Versand Hakobyan are at the Erebuni court. We will find out how this legal dispute concludes by following the developments.
