Armed Group in Mexico Kills Six Adults and One Child
An armed group in central Mexico has stormed a health resort, where dozens of people were spending their weekend, and opened fire, killing six adults and a seven-year-old child, reports The Associated Press citing local authorities.
The authorities in Cortázar, Guanajuato state, stated that an eighth person was seriously wounded as a result of the attack on the La Palma health resort.
No information has been released regarding possible motives for the attack. According to officials, after the gunfire, the attackers vandalized the snack bar and took away surveillance cameras before disappearing.
The casualties included three women, three men, and one child. Mexican soldiers and police are searching for the perpetrators.
