Bodies of High-Ranking Military Personnel Discovered in Japan
Rescue teams have discovered the bodies of five crew members of a crashed Japanese military helicopter near the southern Miyako Island in Okinawa Prefecture. This was reported on Sunday by Kyodo news agency, which specified that the deceased were high-ranking military officials.
The search group also found debris from the downed helicopter. At the time of the accident, there were 10 people on board, including 2 pilots and the commander of the 8th division of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force.
The helicopter had taken off from Miyako Island for patrol purposes. The causes of the crash are being investigated.
