Azerbaijanis Block Access of Artsakh Residents to Artsakh via Lachin Corridor: Minister
Azerbaijanis have blocked the access of Artsakh residents to Artsakh along the Goris-Stepanakert highway. This was reported by the Artsakh Information Headquarters, citing Minister Gurgen Nersisyan.
“Today, Russian peacekeepers attempted to transfer 27 of our citizens (including children, women, and the elderly) from Goris, Armenia, to Artsakh. However, near Shushi, in the blocked section of the Goris-Stepanakert highway, Azerbaijanis prevented the movement of vehicles. Due to Azerbaijani intervention, the health condition of four of our citizens worsened. Russian peacekeepers ensured the arrival of an ambulance, and those four citizens were transported to a hospital in Stepanakert. Russian peacekeepers are now returning the remaining individuals to the city of Goris, as prolonged and persistent negotiations have yielded no results,” stated the Artsakh official.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan, which regularly claims that the road connecting Artsakh to Armenia is open, has overtly prohibited the entry of Artsakh residents into their residence today. “Azerbaijan demonstrates a completely opposite approach regarding the departure of Armenians from Artsakh, which directly indicates their criminal behavior and intention to remove Armenians from Artsakh,” he noted.
The minister indicated that more convincing evidence about the circumstances of the incident would be presented later.
