Death Toll from Earthquake in Turkey Exceeds 9000
The toll from the powerful earthquake in Turkey has reached 9057. This was reported by РИА Новости, citing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During a speech in Hatay province, the president stated, “As of now, the number of fatalities stands at 9057, and the injured total 52979.”
Earlier reports had indicated 8574 deaths and 49133 injuries. The earthquake has resulted in the collapse of 6444 buildings.
