No Contact Between Zaruhi's Husband and Accused in Brutal Murder in Pemzashen: Investigative Committee
The father of the family has recognized Vruyr Barseghyan, who is accused of the particularly brutal murder of 31-year-old Zaruhi Meliksetyan and her two children in Pemzashen, as a fellow villager, but stated that he had no contact with him. However, he maintained normal relations with the other accused, Arkadi Barseghyan. This was reported by the Investigative Committee in response to a written inquiry from Factinfo.
As previously reported, the tragic incident occurred on November 9, 2022, in the village of Pemzashen, Shirak province, where the bodies of Zaruhi Meliksetyan and her two children were discovered in their home. The murder was committed with particular cruelty, and one of the children, a 12-year-old girl, was also subjected to sexual violence. Within the framework of the criminal proceedings, Vruyr and Arkadi Barseghyan were arrested and subsequently detained.
Initially, it was suggested that Vruyr Barseghyan had a mental illness; however, a forensic psychological-psychiatric examination concluded that he was sane and aware of his actions.
